Jackson Hole Film Institute Welcomes Industry Veteran Mark Lindsay to its Board of Directors, Names Festival Alumni Melanie Miller as Artistic Director and Brings Cevin Cathell, formerly of Santa Barbara and Sonoma Festivals, Aboard as Program Director
Jackson Hole, Wyoming - September 5th, 2007 -The Jackson Hole Film Institute will present its flagship program, the 5th Jackson Hole Film Festival (JHFF), June 5 - 9, 2008. In preparation for the milestone event, the Institute recently announced the expansion of its team and a new addition to its board of directors. Melanie Miller, formerly the JHFF program director assumes the newly established role of artistic director and will oversee programming direction and overall artistic vision of the Jackson Hole Film Festival. In her new role, she has already expanded the programming department for the Festival and named Cevin Cathell to succeed her as program director. Joining the board of directors, Mark Lindsay, of Kimmel International and a longtime fan of the Festival, brings solid industry experience and a great passion for independent film. "We have been building this organization over the years to put us in a position to deliver the best possible programming for our upcoming milestone 5th year," said president Eben Dorros. "The additions to our organization are a testament to our continued success of building a premiere destination independent film festival. People are really going to be amazed with what we accomplish this coming June." Melanie Miller, Promoted to JHFF Artistic Director Melanie Miller has been promoted and named artistic director of the Jackson Hole Film Festival. In assuming her new role, Miller brings with her 14 years of experience in the entertainment industry and the knowledge of the Jackson Hole Film Institute, having been involved since its inception and played a major role in building the Festival program and event. Cevin Cathell, Joins JHFF as Program Director Jackson Hole Film Festival's programming department will be led by program director Cevin Cathell who has served as program director for both the Santa Barbara International Film Festival and The Sonoma Valley Film Festival. Cathell served as a juror for the 2007 Jackson Hole Film Festival before deciding to join The Jackson Hole Film Institute. Cathell brings a wealth of experience not just in festival programming, but in film production as well. Cathell has served as producer on many film projects including "Eve's Bayou." Cathell's programming team includes: Noam Dorros, senior programmer, and programmers Diane Becker and Jason White. JHFF Board of Directors, Welcomes Mark Lindsay Long time Festival supporter and president of Kimmel International, Mark Lindsay is welcomed as the newest member of the board of directors. Lindsey has produced films such as "Breach," "Alpha Dogs," and "United 93." Prior to starting Kimmel International in 2005, he was senior vice president, head of sales & distribution for Miramax International and licensed rights to films such as "Chicago" and "Life is Beautiful." He is presently on the board of directors for the Independent Film and Television Alliance. Lindsay joins fellow board members including: David O'Connor and Rick Kurtzman of Creative Artist Agency; Ruth Vitale former co-president of Paramount Classics; Peter Nichols from the entertainment law firm of Lichter, Grossman, Nichols, Adler & Goodman, Inc.; honorary board member Brett Ratner and other technology and film industry veterans.
